Working at Edgar Wood

We are Edgar Wood’

When we describe Edgar Wood Academy, we are not referring to a building - It is a community. Our staff are an integral part of who we are, and therefore it is vital that we recruit people who want to make a difference the lives of the children and communities we serve.

We assure you that as a colleague you will be of great value and importance and in return, it is our intention to provide staff with excellent support, a professional development programme to support you with your future career aspirations and the resources to carry out a first class job.

We are housed in a modern, state-of-the-art building, with stunning views of the local countryside, but within easy access of several motorway links. We can offer the opportunity to shape and develop a curriculum which will capture students’ interests, provoke serious thinking and develop their intellectual curiosity. The curriculum will be culturally relevant to our students and will serve to develop social attitudes and behaviours, celebrate British Values and ensure that students have an inclusive approach to their local and global communities. Edgar Wood Academy have an extensive enrichment programme which will ensure that all students are engaged in a curriculum suffused with memorable experiences and rich opportunities for learning.

Edgar Wood Academy is part of Altus Education Partnership and as such our staff benefit from a wide range of support and development within a collaborative community, including its unique Memorandum of Understanding with both Oxford and Cambridge Universities.
